Title I

The purpose of Title I is to ensure all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education, and to reach proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

Title I resources are distributed to schools with the greatest need and in amounts sufficient to make a difference in the improvement of instruction.

A copy of the current year school projects as submitted to the State Department of Education by the state-mandated deadline, as well as a parent friendly version, is available on this page under Related Documents. Parents may download the parent/family friendly version, provide suggestions or comments, and return the document to the school.

Under the Every Student Succeeds Act, parents have the right to request the qualifications of their child's teachers. Parents who are interested in this information may contact the principal at your child's school, or may contact Dr. Rhonda Ray 803-793-3346 ext 2021.

Also under ESSA, parents of students in Title I schools may request information about state and local policies regarding student participation in required state and/or local assessments.
